Smart Account Detection

Automatic routing at checkout that identifies whether the paying customer has a personal (B2C) balance or a corporate (B2B/B2E) account, and applies the correct rules, limits, and merchant restrictions.

Definition

Smart Account Detection is the routing logic 7Konto applies when a customer authenticates in the Checkout Widget or a PSP-embedded checkout. Based on how the customer authenticates and which account they hold, the platform identifies whether they should pay from a B2C balance (personal gift card, prepaid, loyalty) or a B2B/B2E account (corporate credit line, employee meal allowance, fuel account, wellness stipend). Different rules automatically apply: category restrictions (only groceries, only fuel), merchant whitelists, per-transaction limits, time windows, and MCC-locked spend rules. The customer sees the same simple checkout experience — only the platform knows which set of rules is in force.

Examples

A consumer with a $50 gift card pays online — routed to B2C balance, standard checkout rules apply

A corporate employee with a wellness allowance pays at a partner gym e-shop — routed to B2E account, category and merchant rules apply

A transport company driver pays for tolls online — routed to the corporate B2B fuel account, per-driver limits apply

How 7Konto uses this

Smart Account Detection is what makes online closed-loop scale. Without it, merchants and PSPs would need separate integrations for consumer gift cards, employee benefit accounts, and B2B credit lines. With it, one Checkout Widget or one PSP integration handles all account types automatically.
