Cashless without a wristband to buy, fit or lose

The usual cashless event stack means buying NFC wristbands, encoding them, staffing top-up booths and dealing with the ones that stop working at 2am. A Wallet card does the same job on hardware every guest already brought.

  • No wristbands
  • Top up before arrival
  • Refund the remainder

What the wristband was for

A wristband solved identification and offline operation on a field with no signal. It cost money per guest, needed encoding staff, and produced a pile of refunds to process afterwards.

A Wallet card solves identification the same way and costs nothing per guest. It does need connectivity at the point of sale, which is a question about the site rather than about the guest.

The top-up booth becomes a link sent before the event, which also means the money arrives before the gates rather than during the first hour.

  • Vendors settle individually, so a food truck is not inside the bar's takings.
  • Balance can be capped per guest, per day, or per vendor category.
  • The remainder is refundable to the guest after the event, in one batch.

Running an event

  1. 01

    Issue before the gates

A link with the ticket: the card is in the phone before anyone arrives.

  2. 02

    Top up online

Guests load the balance in advance, which shortens every queue on site.

  3. 03

    Accept at every vendor

On terminals or staff phones, whichever the vendor has.

  4. 04

    Settle and refund

Vendors are paid per their own totals; guests get their remaining balance back.
